An original, range topping Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with just two former keepers and a documented 38,683 miles.
EQUIPMENT
Triplex 10/20 laminated glass, opening front quarter-lights, side mouldings, driver’s door mirror, matt black sills, front air spoiler, rear anti-roll bar, black vinyl covered rear quarter panels, tinted glass, child safety locks, wood veneer door cappings, front seat pockets, adjustable steering column, centre console with coin tray, tachometer, water temperature gauge, battery condition gauge, clock, seatbelt warning light, cigar lighter, heated rear window, lockable glove box, flush fitting ashtrays on all doors, two coat hooks, twin sun visors with passenger vanity mirror.
EXTERIOR
Finished in Carmine, (colour code 82) this preserved example has a deep burgundy shine which has aged remarkably well having always been garaged. An amateur repair to the N/S/F wing and lower front spoiler can be seen on very close inspection but do not detract from the overall excellent appearance of this car. The bonnet has minor imperfections but all the panels are original and structurally perfect. The chrome bumpers have a mirror finish and all the correct badging and HL trim remains undamaged. The supplying Dealer number plates and rear window sticker are present. A beautiful example.
INTERIOR
Finished in the luxurious beige brushed nylon the interior of this Dolomite is stunning. The plush walnut veneer dash houses a comprehensive range of instruments only fitted to the HL models and the matching walnut door cappings give an air of quality. The deep pile brown carpet extends to all four lower doors and no damage rips or wear is apparent. Comfort is guaranteed with wide front seats adjustable fore and aft, rake, height, headrests and even a steering column that is adjustable both vertically and axially. A rare survivor.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
At the heart of this Dolomite is the range topping 1854cc overhead camshaft engine producing a healthy 91bhp which gives the car brisk sporting performance. Quiet, smooth and responsive due to regular servicing this car offers fun yet practical classic car ownership. The four speed, all synchromesh gearbox is light, precise and a joy to use.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Pressed steel disc wheels with black wheel trims and chromed nuts are showing a little sign of ageing and one trim has the Triumph badge missing. Excellent branded tyres with little wear. The hydraulic, dual circuit with servo assistance brakes have been recently overhauled and stop the car quickly and safely.
HISTORY FILE
Owned by three mature gentlemen, all of whom lived locally to the cars supplier, The Parkside Garage Ltd in Coventry, this lovely example has had a sheltered life. A fully stamped British Leyland Passport to Service booklet is complemented by a full set of MOT certificates up until being carefully stored by the current owner. This leaves no doubt to the vehicles very low 38,683 miles.
