Very good condition 1978 1500cc MG Midget. I have owned this car for three years, the previous owner spent in excess of two thousand pounds on it back in 2000, fitting new front wings and a new rear quarter, plus a complete bare metal respray to a high standard, in the original Russet Brown. The actual body 'tub' has, as far as I know, never been welded. It was also thoroughly Waxoyled, and since then it has rarely been out in the wet, meaning a rust-free car. All the paperwork relating to the restoration come with the car, along with a pile of past MOTs etc., so anyone buying it will know what they're getting.
The car is still with its original hood which is serviceable but beginning to show its age. It also comes with a tonneau cover and a padded hood cover, both in good condition, and the hard-top shown in the photographs. The engine runs beautifully, and in the three years I've owned it has never given any trouble nor required any attention. The only work this car has needed in my ownership was a set of new bushes for the rear springs, which were fitted last year.
The interior is original as well. The vinyl seats and cards show no signs of wear, not entirely suprising after only 66,000 miles. The luggage rack on the boot lid was a bespoke item in marine grade stainless steel, so no problems with that rotting away!
All in all, this is a remarkably sound little car with nothing to do to it except get in and drive. Ideal for the summer. MOT until June 2013 and just under six month's tax. I'm very sorry to let it go, but an house move means I no longer have room to keep two classic cars, so I'm applying the last-one-in, first-one-out policy.
