This is an original 190 2.5 Cosworth, that has been in my ownership for the last 11 years. In that time I have only covered 34,000 miles. ~
The car's exterior is in good condition for its age, however, please bear in mind that this car is 23 years old. It does have scratches and marks on the paintwork and the rear spoiler has a small white circular patch.
Interior is in average condition, rear door cards need replacing, the seats are in good condition. All seats are half leather. ~
The engine sounds great- pulls as it should with no funny noises at all- cold starts are no problem, all works as it should. ~
The car is completely original; it still has the hydraulic suspension which was recently replaced at a cost of £600 in order to keep the car original. ~
Comes complete with all manuals and service book.
I have changed the following since I have owned the car.
-New alternator
-New Battery
-New Cold start sensor
-New sub frame mounts
-New hydraulic rear shock absorbers
-New Hydraulic suspension pipes
-New brake discs and pads all round
-New radiator
-New clutch slave cylinder
-New water pump
-New exhaust (front to back) with original Mercedes downpipe
-Top end engine rebuild at 168k at a cost of £800.00
As you can see, a lot of time and money has gone into getting this car up to a good standard, however, it needs TLC to bring it up to an excellent standard. The car is mechanically sound and can be used everyday. It’s a perfect running project that is great fun to drive and is very rare, 1 of 350 2.5 Cosworth’s left in the UK making it an appreciating classic in years to come. At present this car can be insured under classic car insurance.
Bad bits:
- Sunroof stopped working a few years ago however, it is in the closed position and is 100% leak proof.
- Rear electric windows have stopped working
-Alloys need a refurb (see pictures)
-The rear door cards need replacing, as they have curled
-The water sensor needs replacing as it is illuminating on the dashboard, but the water level is ok
Please not that this car is 23 years old it’s not brand new so will have the usual, age related blemishes
~ Any inspection welcome but no stupid offers please! There are not many decent 2.5 16's around now. In the past 11 years I have spent more on the car than the starting bid.
