Sold new by Ford in March 1987, this standard production RS200 was sold in March 1987 to its first owner based in Southern California. During his ownership the vehicle covered just over 11,000 miles and remained within his small private collection for 22 years.
Purchased by the current owner in the summer of 2009, the decision was taken to thoroughly go through the car prior to any use. Now returned to the UK, the car is just completing the final stages of its rebuild and will be offered for sale in fine fettle.
Of note the car has been completely, professionally repainted, the engine has been rebuilt as have all fuel, cooling and braking systems. Naturally all suspension has been rebuilt and refinished. Thankfully due to its fortunate living arrangements during its cosseted life there is no corrosion whatsoever and structurally it is nothing short of excellent in this respect.
Tastefully finished with the red Recaro leather upholstery it has had from new this has to rank as one of the finest production RS200s currently available. With just 2 owners from new, such low mileage and the benefit of such extensive recent work this investment grade RS200 is worthy of consideration and welcome to any inspection.
