Jaguar XK 140 FHC RHD SOLD (1955) | | |
| | | http://pristine-classics.com/cars/jaguar-xk-140-fhc-rhd/ | This car started its life in England and was imported into Ireland in 1977, hence the vintage Irish number.
It underwent a long restoration process that started in the 80s and went on until the mid-90s. We have the car since 2008 and have not only enjoyed driving it but have maintained and improved it over that period of time. This is a very reliable and drivable car that is an excellent investment particularly as all Jaguar XK prices are on the increase. For the Irish collector or investor the registration number is an added attraction.
We got a little carried away - in order to remove a few stone chips and other imperfections we gave the car a full re-spray. We overhauled the front and rear suspension which involved the removal of all components, sandblasting and painting them with two pack paint and rebuilding it all with new Poly-bushes and while we were working on it we fitted new shocks all around.
We fitted a new fuse box and send the wiper motor off for reconditioning.
We recently received the interior timber for around the side windows which went missing throughout the restoration carried out by the previous owner, and we are now in the process of fitting them.
We are of the opinion that the value of this car is about € 72,000 or £ 56,500 but are willing to discuss this with a potential buyer.
