This MGA 1962 Mk11 was purchased from Lake Elsinore, California at the beginning of the Year. My wife and I decided to go on expedition to find an MGA which was rust free and well kept. This vehicle was purchased from a guy called George who has had the car in his garage since 1981; his friend was the original owner of the vehicle of which he purchased new emigrated and exported to California many years ago. He never finished the project. The new owner will be given a photo album of how we came to purchase the car and the history that goes with it, which I hope will stay now with the car for the rest of its life. Since purchasing the car I have re-commissioned it.
This car was certainly that original garage find that everyone looks for! With spending most of its life kept in a garage with so little wear and tear to be seen anywhere. Whilst recommissioning of course there is certain parts that have slightly perished over time. These have been replaced Whilst doing this parts have either been renewed or sand blasted, powder coated and reconditioned. However the car has retained at least 80% of its original parts. Although the car is not concourse this could be easily be done so by yourself if you so desire. This car was selected after viewing over 40 selected cars in California, as it been hidden for many years this car retained its original sills, etc and an extraordinary immaculate chassis and body. (no welding anywhere- and never has been)Having been waxed oiled from new and apparent oil leak continually dowsed the chassis with oil, and of course the California is perfect for keeping these cars in the original dry condition. Whilst replacing or reconditioning the parts all the nuts, bolts and fastenings have been cleaned and polished and refitted or subsequently been replaced for stainless steel items. This car is so original it still retains its original hood and tonneau cover. We have tried to keep the as original as possible but due to our current climate we thought would benefit from a new stainless steel exhaust. All interior has been replaced, i.e. new dash carpets etc although the original seats have been retained,
Components that have been replaced or reconditioned:-.
Engine checked, found to be sound refitted with new gaskets and reconditioned ancillaries 23,000 miles

In conclusion its fair to say this car has spent very little time in use, although we are going to London this coming weekend of which the car will be given a shock as this will be its first major run out for over thirty years …..
I am sure there is so many parts that have been reconditioned or cleaned which I will have forgotten or is too much to list…..
No expense has been spared on parts, materials or labour whilst recommissiong this vehicle this car was far to good to skimp on!!!!
