A great looking classic car with a brilliant racing pedigree, it’s a very sweet sounding car having had a very recent engine rebuild, its just been MOT’d and serviced and is ready to drive away. It starts first time with a smoke free growl, it has a very smooth strong engine and gearbox and pulls like a train when coming on boost and drives in a staright line and brakes in a straight line also. Its approx 380 bhp and has about 6 different dyno print outs over its life time showing power and torque figures, it has different injectors and a chip mated to a rebuilt turbo, stainless exhaust and an RS500 alloy intercooler and radiator. The bodywork is good and very shiny, it has std alloy wheels with good Dunlop tyres fitted, the brakes are groved and have new pads fitted front and rear, the front end is slightly lowered but the rear end runs std ride height. The dampening is taken care of with koni adjustable shock absorbers allround and this all adds up to a very good handling package which is not too stiff but just right. The car looks just that bit better than a standard car with its subtle differences which are a RS500 front bumper, spliter and lights and the extra rear RS500 boot spoiler and side decal.
As with all cars they have there bad points and this is no acception being a 26 year old car. In 1991 ( 11 years ago ) it was classed as a category D car having suffered some accident damage, it was easy in those days just to re-shell the car and this is what was done, so the current shell has had no damage. At that time a colour change was also done and its an extreamly good job having lasted amazingly well only two minute bubbles of paint at the bottom of both doors but hardly noticeable. The alternator bearing is slightly noisy, the wheels need a refurbish, there is a stain on the drivers seat, there is also a few cracks to the very low front RS500 splitter.
However over all it’s a great solid reliable car with a fresh engine, it pulls well makes all the right noises and is FAST !! The paintwork is very shiny and looks like a 5 year old car rather than a 25 year old…It’s a classic, fun toy…
