Stunning Land Rover Series III soft top 300Tdi For Sale (1980)
I have for sale, my 1980 Land Rover Series III. Whilst, as always with an old car, there are always a few mini-projects and bits to tinker with, I'm quite sure that this is one of the very best you will find :
It was rebuilt by the previous owner in 2009 / 10 to include :
New galvanised chassis
Fairey overdrive and AMP freewheeling hubs.
All body parts disassembled, shot blasted to bare metal and painted in Steel Blue (RAL 2011, which is similar to the Royal Navy Land Rover colour)Bulkhead repaired and fitted with new footwells. New doors and door tops. Swing away rear 1/2 door fabricated by engineer.
Chassis and bulkhead waxoyled.
300 Tdi Discovery engine fitted, with cam belt change and remote oil cooler. Superb job and runs beautifully.
Parabolic springs fitted with Procomp shocks, axles refurb'd, new props.
Bespoke high flow exhuast made for Tdi fitment.
Wheels shot blasted and painted.
New Exmoor trim hood stick set.
New Exmoor trim black hood.
There are lots and lots of bills for the work, along with plenty of photos.
Since I have owned the truck I have :
Removed the unusual engineered dash the previous owner made, rebuilt (complete strip down of all old components, shot blasted and powder coated)an original dash and refitted/rewired.
Fitted an Exmoor trim hardura interior kit.
New Exmoor trim Delux seats.
New Bridgestone road biased all terrain tyres.
New steering column and bearing, rebuilt with refurbished orginal steering box)
Mud flaps all round.
Period style ribbed matting to rear load area.
Period style aluminium number plates with raised numbers. Period AA badge.
Tow bar and electrics.
Stormforce 4 layer car cover (laughable purchase really, as it's never been stored outside by me or P.O.!)
This really only touches the surface of the car, which simply looks beautiful and drives absolutely superbly, with period style and modern power. It is MOT'd until October, but I would be very happy to put another year on for the new owner. There is also approx 6 months tax left, so it's ready to show. There are a few more pictures on Flickr if you type in NGX 80W.
Please feel free to email or call me with any questions.
Steve
