Austin Healey 3000 LHD for restoration 100% complete For Sale (1965) | | |
| Border Reivers are pleased to offer this Austin Healey for sale, its the last of the Big Healeys. The 3000 Mk3 phase 2 from 1965. Its a LHD export model (USA). Originally British racing Green.
From illinois,USA, all customs duties are paid. A genuine 100% complete un-messed with car with 1st time rust!. With all its original body panels & they are all salvageable.
It Needs the usual outriggers, main floors, front floors, a set of sills (a new outer set comes with the car) , wing repair sections, boot lid repair, There is a fair bit of bondo
(American solder) on the front shroud behind the bumper area. She will need a full re-trim, hood etc & all the chrome re-done, the usual really . The chassis is sound & straight look at the door gaps & body lines, the doors shut well with no drop.
Restorations are never easy but this should be straight forward. A none runner,the engine wont turn by hand.I put some diesel down the bores to see if I could free it off but still not turning. I think the rings might have rusted ? I didn't want to cause any damage so haven't went further. All the electrics work well,lights etc.
The car is in Scotland Now. So no shipping cost or duty to pay. A very rare opportunity to buy the most desirable of the big Healeys.
We will be happy to undertake the restoration for the new owner in part or full.
