RetroMarques Ltd is pleased to offer for sale on behalf of the owner this Sunbeam Alpine Series II

This is the very car featured in this month’s Classic and Sports Car magazine feature on the Bond Alpine; a rare, indeed possibly unique, car as the only Alpine understood to remain in ‘Lake Blue’ and a ‘twin’ to the Sunbeam Alpine driven by James Bond in ‘Dr No’.

Details:
Chassis No: B9107305
Engine No: 9107305
Supplied complete with factory hard-top (just fully refurbished)
History:
Original Green logbook
First registered in Bristol 25th July 1961, and only 4 owners to date
Many previous tax discs and MoT test certificates
Sufficient history to indicate that the present mileage of 61670 is the original mileage
Full photographic record of the bare-metal restoration, which also included a full engine rebuild

Recent work:
• Gearbox overhaul
• New soft-top
• New tonneau cover
• New carpet set in navy blue
• Seats recovered in light blue piped navy – stunning!
• New door cards in matching navy blue
• Minor rectification, including brake maintenance and seal replacement to stem oil leaks

In addition, this Alpine has been fitted with a Cat 2 immobiliser and is supplied with 2 sets of the now rare slatted chrome wheel trims

In summary, an opportunity to acquire a rare example of the Alpine and which is both in a very attractive colour scheme and finished to a very high standard, indeed, we believe that it would form an excellent basis for a concours car, should one choose to show the car. The Alpine is driving very well, feels quick on the road with the 1592 engine happy to rev freely and quite comfortable cruising at 60-70mph. Notably, it is very composed on country lanes with remarkably few, if any, untoward rattles or other noises, nicely neutral steering and good brakes.
