| 1973 Saab 96 V4. Good original condition For Sale (C36561) | | | I have owned this car since March 2005. During this time I have spent a considerable sum of money (approx. £5,000) bringing it up to a good mechanical standard. I have also had some of the panels repainted. The list of improvements includes:
·A brand new VEGE engine imported from Holland
·Recon exchange gearbox
·Brand new hand made clutch
·New oversized radiator
·Replacement distributor with new condenser & points
·Replacement drive shafts and front brake discs & pads
·Replacement Weber carburettor and pancake air filter
All the above work was completed by the Saab V4 Restoration Company in Wimbledon
In addition further work carried out by local Saab specialist SS Motors as follows:
·Overhauled rear brakes with new hoses, cylinders and brake shoes plus handbrake cable
·New exhaust
Parts fitted by myself:
·New Coil
·Rebuilt alternator by Squirrel Auto Electrics
·Seat covers
·In addition the car has had a new battery courtesy of the RAC
The car has been my daily transport and has covered just over 23,000 miles on her new engine. The service book that came with the engine has been stamped up to show that the oil and filter etc. have been changed.
MOT August 2008, Taxed until 31 October 2008. Overall the car is in good condition and has been very reliable.
There is also a number of spare parts included in the sale along with the workshop manuals and period handbooks.
