1905 Tribelhorn Electric For SaleThere were many makers of electric cars in the early 20th century, some of them like Detroit, Rauch & Lang and Baker sufficiently well known to be recognized by a large segment of car collectors and enthusiasts. One that isn't likely to be on the tip of many tongues, though, is the unusually named Tribelhorn. That's not only because they didn't build many electric autos but also because there were based in Feldbach, Switzerland, near Zurich where most of the company's products were commercial vehicles. This may be the only Tribelhorn electric in the US. It is powered by a 2 horsepower 40 volt DC motor with a vis-a-vis brougham style body and a cape style top covering the driver and one passenger. Steering is by a tiller located on the left side. Suspension is by live axles on semi-elliptical leaf springs with a steel chassis and there are two wheel brakes on the rear axle. It is a superbly presented fresh restoration finished in maroon and black and is in good operating condition. Even at an electric car gathering it will stand out from the crowd not only on account of its origin but also with its tall brougham body and sweeping wood mudguards.
