Volvo P1800S 2 litre with overdrive For Sale (1969)This fine example of a rare 2 litre Volvo P1800S has been treasured and meticulously cared for over its life.
It's mechanically and body sound, has a stainless steel exhaust and with its 2 litre engine and overdrive runs like a dream. It stands out form the crowd in its Peacock Blue livery, which is the original colour of the car.
In the early 90's it underwent a complete professional mechanical and bodywork refurbishment and comes with a complete history of invoices from 1984. It has just passed its MOT and had a lubrication service.
The Volvo P1800 was designed for Volvo by Pelle Pettersson in the 50's. The first car being assembled by Jensen Motors in West Bromwich, West Midlands from 1960 to 1963 when the entire production was moved to Volvo's Lundby manufacturing plant in Gothenburg Sweden and became The P1800S.
In 1969 Volvo upgraded the engine to a 2 litre type B20B producing 118 bhp. There were only 1693 built before the engine was further upgraded to fuel injection and the name changed to P1800E.
This Volvo P1800S was registerted in April 1969 and is one of these rare 2 lite modles with an engine number of 227.
I have owned the car for three years and am only selling due to recent leg surgury preventing me from driving a manual transmission.
