For sale, my moto guzzi quota 1100 es fuel injected touring machine, this bike spent its entire life from new {1999} up until three years ago in the south of france, it was imported and u.k. Registered by the 1st u.k. Owner before myself,bit of a special bik. The quota as typical with moto- guzzi not many were made and the majority were sold in europe,the previous quota model that moto guzzi made a similer shaped machine but different motor and carbs instead of injection, they made between 1992- and 1997 and they only made 197 bikes at the guzzi factory full stop!!, that information is contained in several book. On moto guzzi's which list total production numbers of bikes since the factory opened in 1921, they are also the 2nd oldest motorcycle manufacturer in the world today, thats a lot of pedigree with a moto guzzi bik. Today, ! more of these newer models were made im not sure on the exact number but it wont have been in the thousands .so for anyone interested in "collecting" nice ones can only increase in value in the future,they wont go the other way,! a small number of these machines did come t. The u.k. Through offical moto guzzi dealerships, the bike had a running issue when i bought it that the previous keeper couldent fathom, my local guzzi dealer had a go at solving it,but it wasent until i took it to a moto guzzi specialist technician of long standing the problem was solved it "coughed" and "popped " until warm when first started up from cold once warm it was fine, the problem was sourced to a faulty plug cap, and re setting the throttle bodies,and throttle potentiometer,something through no fault of their own the local dealer couldent solve, its been fully serviced only 300 miles ago by my local guzzi dealer, , along with new rear indicators the originals had seen their best, no doubt with carrying luggage on the rear carrier previously, there are absolutely no faults whatsoever wit. This little beut' its a great bik. To ride, and these engines as any officionado's of moto guzzi's will know are bomb proof' i have a friend in italy with a quot. Thats coverd in excess of 150,000 kilometres and still going strong, a real mile munching touring bike, this machine is fitted with optional engine protectors and tinted upswept touring screen, its also had a very sensible modification that allows the motor to breathe better the collector box fitted standard at the factory has been changed for a "mistral" stright though crossover pipe, and the front header pipe cross overs have been removed and blanked off, this allows the motor to breathe much better, and many guzzi owners modify the motors in such a way on older generation guzzi's, mistral are a company based just down the road from the guzzi factory that produce performance enhanching parts for a range of moto cycles but are specialists with moto guzzi machines making crossover pipes and alternate end cans and header pipes, ive taken several clear and good quality close up photographs of the bike please take a good look at them ,no its not perfect it is after all 15 years old now, there are one or two chips in the paintwork no doubt brought about by carrying luggage on the bike, it has been used for touring as it was designed for,!!, but there is absolutely "no" rust or rot on it anywhere, one of the advantages of living in a warmer climate for most of its life. Starts on the button with absolutely no mechanical or electrical issues with it, everything performs as it should it has no service history but clearly has been well maintained during its life as can be seen by riding it.these machines wether bought new in the u.k. Or abroad were all fitted with kilometer speedometers by the guzzi factory as were many similar guizzi models of this vintage.i have quoated the total mileage in miles for you here which is u.k. Miles 44,366 miles currently.the speedometer face has an inner ring printed on at the factory in green showing mph, so you dont have to start sticking bits of tape on it to see where you are speed wise, ,!! as with all italian motorcycles it handles great and is very sure footed cornering etc, i have added phone contact numbers for myself i would prefer interested parties to phone me rather than e-mail questions, i will remove the ad once the machine is sold ,thanks for looking .
