| 1966 Triumph Herald convertible 1200 For Sale (C44407) | | | Not for Sale - it has been Sold via Car and Classic | | Body off restoration of floor pan and chassis,NEW side rails and outriggers bought from jigsaw triumph specialists, and welded into place.Everything was cleaned down with grinder and wire brush.
When finished complete chassis was painted with red primer then with hammerite.
Suspension;All components cleaned and rust removed with grinder and wire brush etc.New bushes throughout. New trunnion kits to both sides.New dampers front and rear. New front springs fitted. New front and rear suspension bolt kits used.Refurbished rear spring.
Brakes;New brake shoes all round (front drum brakes)New wheel cylinders all round.New copper brake pipes all round.New flexible brake pipes all round.
Wheels;New wheel bearings all round.
Steering Rack;New gaiters.New track rod ends.
Anti-rollbar;New ends fitted.
Drive; New universal joints fitted to propshaft ends and to each half shaft.One replacement halfshaft bought and fitted.
Engine;Dismantled and sent for crack testing,rebore,remachining of top of block and mating head surface.New pistons and rings.New bearings,New valves and valve seats suitable for unleaded fuel.New fuel pump.New clutch.Clutch cylinders refurbished with new seals.New valve springs. (New gaskets).New coil,points,disy cap,condenser,leads,plugs,fan belt,stainless steel water pipe,rubber water pipes except heater pipes.
Reconditioned dynamo,Reconditioned starter motor.
Brand new wide radiator, Brand new stainless steel exhaust system.
New carpets and underlay, New (second)blue mohair hood bought from Prestige at triumph stand.
Resprayed last summer.
There is no rust, the doors dont drop,C.V.is on the Vin Plate after the number, also on the V5.(i put these in as these questions always seem to get asked, if there are any other please ask.)
All the chrome is very good,as is the white rubber.
The car has only covered 70 miles since all this,which can be verified by the MOT and odometer. So the car should give no problems for years apart from everyday motoring items,tyres,points, plugs etc.
There is a DVD of the engine/chassis stripped down,a written
report of the restoration stages,plus all bills,which will go with the sale.
