1967 Triumph TR4A with Surrey Top and Hardtop SOLD | | | 1967 Triumph TR4A with Surrey Top in dark blue with a light blue interior. The surrey top comes complete with both the softtop and the original hardtop.
This car was featured in the ‘Original TR’ book by Bill Piggott Published 1991 (copy provided with the car).
We have owned this TR4A since 1999 buying it off the family of its first owner. The car has a 2,138 cc engine with twin SU carburettors, a four speed gearbox with overdrive on 2nd 3rd and 4th gears.
In 2005 we had it repainted by Worcester Classics and at the time they commented that they hadn’t seen original body panels in such good condition for a long time. It did need some welding to the base of the bootlid and the wings but was otherwise structurally very sound.
The car has been regularly used and benefits from a number of improvements we have made over the years to keep it running properly
• Installed Kenlowe fan with both a thermostatic switch and a manual override
• Pressurised radiator expansion tank
• Minilite alloy wheels (no loose spokes and a smoother ride)
• K&N Air Filters
• Braided steel brake hoses
• Green Stuff brake pads
• Polyurethane suspension bushes
• Solid steering mounts
• Inertia reel seat belts
The car comes with a Heritage Certificate and a stack of bills from our 12 years of ownership but no history before 1999.
