Originaly built in 1979 from a new shell and the rear of a donor vehicle, now restored to an excellent solid condition with a custom made toneau cover.
There is masses of paperwork from the original build and from the restoration with photos to show the major restoration body repairs.
This vehicle has had a lot of work done in the past year including:
- Engine striped and rebuilt with new piston rings, bearing shells, seals and clutch;
- Front Hubs replaced with Disk brake type;
- New front disks, brake pads, ball joints, wheel bearings and CV boots;
- New floors, new outer sills and inner sill repairs as required;
- New front panel and new inner and outer A Panels;
- Heel board repair panels both sides;
- New rear load bed and supporting structure;
- New rear valence;
- New rear-rear n/s wheel arch;
- Various minor repairs to wheel arch areas;
- New headlining;
- New black front bumper;
- New front grille and surrounds;
- Seats recovered in matching vinyl;
- MK4 interior fitted from donor car;
- MK4 wiring loom fitted from donor car;
- New fuse box;
- New wiper arms and blades;
- Windscreen and rear screen replaced using new seals and trim;
- 1 new rear subframe fitted;
- 1 used rear subframe fitted from donor car;
- Clutch and brake master cylinders serviced;
- Front Tie bar bushes replaced;
- Radius arms reconditioned;
- New Fuel tank;
- Rear lights replaced;
- Installation of fog and reversing lights;
- New rear brake shoes and cylinders;
- New brake lines and flexi hoses;New fuel line;
- New exhaust (RC-40 twin box system with additional link pipe);
- Standard 12” mini steel wheels fitted to front x 2;
- Standard 12” Hillman Imp steel wheels fitted to rear x 4;
- Car undersealed inside and out with approx 25Ltrs of underseal;
- Car re-sprayed in cellulose - Ford Radiant Red;
- New edging finishing strips fitted;
- Tailgate modified with removal of number plate mounting area;
- Number plate relocated under tailgate and LED number plate lights fitted.
- Custom made tonneau cover.

The load bed is just long enough for the average person to lie down in.

The tailgate lifts off to allow for loading of long or heavy items.
Fitted with a rebuilt 1275GT A-series engine running with twin 1.25" SU carbs, LCB and new exhaust. Goes very well but will probably want a tune up done properly on a rolling road to get its full potential.
Starts first time every time and is very reliable.
As you can imagine, the underside is completely solid so no worries there and the engine and gearbox are in good health. The exhaust is obvioulsy almost new and all the tyres have good tread.
The engine has just about been run in now and I will change the oil and filter before the car is sold. The car has only done about 500 or so miles since the MOT so you can consider it as serviced (all the service parts were new at the time of MOT) and should not need servicing for a while.
The car is located near Weston-super-Mare, about 12 minutes from either J21 or J22 of the M5.
I currently have the vehicle insured with a specialist insurer with an agreed value and they had no problem with insuring it or with the agreed value. This is costing just over £200 but I have had an accident in the recent past which has made it more expensive, so it could be cheaper for you. I will supply all the necessary details to make it easy for you to insure it correctly and obtain the agreed value.
