one of the 352 manufactured For Sale (1965)
Very rare ALVIS TE 21. Body by Park Ward. Only 352 produced, 273 remaining. External revisions from the previous TD 21 were a new front panel incorporating four headlamps, in vertical pairs on each side and modifications to the rear wings. Under the bonnet a new cylinder head with larger valves, new exhaust manifolds and a larger bore exhaust system put power up to 130 bhp and speed to 112 mph.
Finished in Light Metallic Blue (first paint!) with Grey Leather Interior (original). This car has the preferred Borg Warner three speed automatic gearbox option, with highly desirable wire wheels. Beautiful wood-rimmed sports steering wheel. Disc brakes by Dunlop are fitted to all four wheels.
Manufactured in 1965. Chassis Number 27241. Engine Number 27241. Date of registration 11/02/1965. The car is registered CRY862C.
The car is running and driving. Chassis is straight and sound. The bodywork requires restoration, specially on the lower parts. All the glass is perfect. The interior is still in good conditions, condidering the age, with some tears on the seats. New carpets are required. Mechanically everythink is working.
Including in the sale: all the spare glasses, a spare starting motor (in working order), the original owners manual, the original spare part catalogue, and a couple of interesting Alvis books.
The last MOT is expired October 2003. I have the following MOT cartificates: (expiring dates) 2003 - 2002 - 2001 - 2000 - 1999 - 1998 - 1990 - 1986 - 1983.
I have invoices from EARLEY ENGINEERING LIMITED (ALVIS Specialists), dated 2001, for more than £3,000 in mechanical works.
In summary, a very rare, honest, unmolested, structurally sound, 100% complete, 100% original example of a stylish car, at outstanding value. With a proper restoration, this III Series 3 litre Alvis car will represent post-war British motoring at its best.
