| Fiat 500 RHD Genuine 20,000miles!! For Sale (1972) edit C49221 | | | Most Fiat 500's have been used, subsequently worn out and then restored to their former glory. Of late, LHD 500's are being imported to supply the demand for these charming cars. A handful of UK supplied machines have been loved, garaged and maintained correctly.
This car has not been restored, remains original and has covered only 20k miles since delivery in '72. All fittings are genuine Fiat which are a worlds apart in quality to pattern inferior parts only available today to restore a 500. The bumpers, carpets, seat covers are all excellent as the pictures illustrate.
Finding a rust free RHD 500 is nigh on impossible these days. In fact how many 500's still have the stainless sill strips in place and in the correct low position? This is a key indicator to a unmollested example. The doors, spare wheel well, foors and most importantly wheel arches are superb. Interestingly the very late 500's (late '72 on) had a 126 floorpan (the 126 was released in '73) which has proved much more resistant to rust than the "F" style floorpan and is substantially reinforced.
Naturally being fitted with its original smooth running gear it drives extremely well and is a joy to pilot through the metropolis, which one would expect having covered less than two years average mileage. To back up the provenace of this Cinquecento I have two sets of keys, the original handbook, tools, service booklet and associated original brochures etc.
A car can be original only once. If you're in the market for an outstanding example to keep and cherish then this Cinquecento certainly warrants viewing.
