| 2x Renault 5GT Turbo Classic Race Cars FOR SALE For Sale (1984) edit C50821 | | | I have two 5GT Turbo coupe Racers for sale. Both these cars competed in the R5 reunion race at thruxton in 2004. The red car (driven by Dave Cox) qualified on pole and finished 2nd - Its first outing on track! The Pink car (driven by Jim Edwards JNR) qualified 2nd and finished 1st.
Mark Fish motorsport been running R5GT's successfully since the championship originally started and also ran them in the 'super Coupe Cup' - winning the class championship countless times. This was built for a customer after his original rolled. No expense Spared - COMPLETE strip/respray. IMMACULATE THROUGHOUT, only completing one race from new. This car was built from an excellent road shell and would therefore be very easy to get an MOT and put on the road. The customer never saw the car (we dry stored it) and eventually we bought the car and prepared it for the thruxton race.
Comes with 5 slicks and 4 wets (not road legal)

One of the Original 'Radbourne Racing' cars. Owned by several race drivers from our team with various success (Bought by Mark to drive in the Thruxton Race, but sold the drive to Jim Edwards JNR - Who won the 5GT Elf Championship Against Mark and Micky Allen in 1990)
Engine Approx 3 seasons Old
Gearbox approx 1.5 seasons old and crunches selecting 3rd gear quickly (it won the race like this)
This car has never suffered any major damage but does carry a few years of 'battle scars' on the panels
Comes with 5 slicks and 4 wets (not road legal)

The specs are as follows;
Both Cars are built to the original Renault Elf UK 5GTT Championship 1984-1990
Blue printed engine; Producing 150 BHP at the flywheel
Fully balanced, boost set to 14.5 psi, baffled sump pan, seperate 13 row oil cooler with thermostat, Competition stiffer engine/gearbox mounts, Intercooler strapped and internal secured and sealed open, competition air filter, Carb choke flap removed and larger main jet.
Straight through exhaust system - side exit (95 DECIBEL if i remember correctly). Electric master Cut-out switch. Full Race-spec Roll cage. Strut Brace, Koni sport adjustable dampers F&R, Race spec front pads, Front brake ducts, Braided brake hoses. Steel coupe wheels. Various weight reduction, rear aux fuel tank removed. Race seat and harness.
The RED car has a plumbed in fire extinguisher and benefits from electric windows (kept in as a luxury)!
