| Series 1 4.2 FHC Manual SOLD (1966) C51241 | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | | First registered on 13.10.66 this car has undergone restoration and refurbishment in the late 80’s.
Body panels such as door skins, sills, floors, bonnet and boot. Re-spray. The rear axle was rebuilt as was the engine. The engine underwent the following: - new cylinder head, block cleaned and honed, flywheel skimmed, bottom end gasket, big end bolts and nuts, cleaned crank journals, new piston rings, new clutch, top timing chain dampers, water pump kit, oil sender unit, bead blasted cylinder head and cam covers, exhaust valve guides, inlet valve guides, head skimmed, rebuilt crank shaft pulley and fuel pump.
I have owned and cared for this car since 1996 during which time I have added the following:-
Full stainless steel exhaust,
Carburettor floats,
Speedo cable,
Rear seat belts,
Oil pump,
Two rear tyres,
Main bearings,
Big end bearings,
Thrust washers,
Starter motor,
Front seat foams,
Headlamps,
Exhaust manifold,
Rear wheel bearings,
Ball joints,
Clutch master and slave cylinder,
Electronic ignition,
Steel braided front brake hoses,
Steering rack gaiters,
Voltage stabiliser,
Oil gauge and sender unit (digitally controlled 40+ psi)
Front windscreen.
This is a solid car with no signs of rust on the body work, inner panels or sub frames. There are a few minor paint work blemishes that you would expect in a vehicle of this age but none so obvious to detract from the overall appearance.
