This car has an extensive history file of receipts along with the Original Owners Manual and Mainenance Record book showing delivery on 21/04/1970 by Santa Monica Porsche, California, U.S.A. The documention confrims this beautiful 911E spent its life in and around the sunny dry climate of Santa Monica, California. We also have the cars Californian License plates.
Number 484 out of 933 produced for 1970, this is a very solid original example that has been cared for and maintained well by its previous owners. The paint work and body are in very good condition as well as the Targa top which had been recovered a few years ago. The interior is original and benefits from an upgraded "Nardi" wood rim steering wheel and Gear Knob. Factory options include Deep dish Fuchs alloys, Special Order Tan interior, Hella driving lamps and Rear Seat belts.
This car starts and drives very nicely and being an "E" is very fast with its 155bhp engine, 30bhp more than the 911T. With its ledgendary 911 handling coupled with its deep dish Fuchs alloys giving this car amazing grip. It really is a fun car to drive.
The suspension and steering are are nice and firm with no knocks or rattles, the brakes pull up very well and hold the car in a good straight line. The gears shift very smoothly and the engine pulls nicely through the gears.
Porsche only produced a total of 9,335 911E's compared with 32,016 911T's making them much rarer than the 911T. Its also interesting to note that Porsche actually produced less 911E models than 911S models by 450 cars, making the 911E even rarer than the "S".
The small bumper Porsches are not only beautiful to look at and drive, they are also an excellent classic car investment. This car is fully registered in the U.K with a new MOT certificate. It also has the benefit of being exempt from road tax.
Overall an excellent early 911 example, very original with lots of history, and ready to drive and enjoy.
