| Porsche 911 RS Replica For Sale (1972) edit C52233 | | | I bought this car earlier in the year to turn into a regularity rally car but now condsider that it would be a shame to spoil a fantastic copy of a lightweight RS 2.7.
A Porsche Car of Noth America Certificate of Authentcity confirms that the 1972 manufactured Porsche started life as a 911T/E in Tangerine with Cinnamon leatherette interior and both the chassis and engine numbers declared, which an AFN Heritage Certificate from July 1999 records first supply to the US. Having returned to Europe and being German registered in February 1999, 9113199696 was converted by PS Automobile of Dortmund to what is a most authentic RS specification. The Left-hand drive car was first UK registered in July of that year and acquired by me in July 2008.
The 2.4 litre engine, the original Type 911/51, has mechancial fuel injection, which has just been serviced, fuel system benefitting from new seals and neopane rocker seals fitted (upgraded to 2.7 litres capacity, a well chartered conversion, could always be an option at some time). The 4-speed transmission, number 230121, is also original to the car, heat exchangers, dual-exhaust system and brake pipes are all in stainless steel. The brake discs are ventilated and the alloy from calipers rebuilt. Suspension componenets are powder-coated, dampers Bilstein, and an under slung anti-roll bar and alloy front suspension towers brace have been added. 7J and 8J Fuch alloys are shod with new Dunlops.
The coupe bodywork with RS front spoiler and whale tail are paint in Grand Prix white with model-correct RS decals in red while windscreen and window rubbers have been renewed. Period Scheel bucket seats and Willan full harness seat belts installed in an interior largely replaced during refurbishment. The RS door panels are new as is the dash top with door tops and centre dash area trimmed in leather, the gauges are 911S. Unusally for so many 911s from this era, period-correct twin battery boxes are still intact in the inner wings with fresh Bosch Silver batteries fitted, the luggage compartment with new carpeting presenting particularly well.
Comes with full history file over the last 9 years from the previous owner. There is also newly issed FIVA Identity card no.032203 should anyone wishing to take part in International Historic Rallies. May P/X for early - mid 60's rally car.
