Offered here is the opportunity to have your own Minisprint manufactured by the Sprints original designer Neville Trickett.
Of all the variants of the original BMC Mini it is generally recognized that the Minisprint is one of the most glamorous. Originally conceived during the summer of 1965, the Sprint went into production during the winter of that year. It immediately met with rapturous applause from the press & motoring public alike & the Sprint became an instant classic. By the late 1960’s the Sprint project was being run by Stewart & Ardern the largest Morris dealership in the world who eventually wound the project up due to the spiraling labour costs involved in converting the cars.
A Minisprint is a Mini that has had 3” removed from the body height giving the car a sleek and aerodynamic appearance; the modifications also lower the centre of gravity and reduce the shell's aerodynamic coefficient dramatically. Most importantly of all, it makes the original BMC Mini look like it always should!
For the first time since 1966 Neville Trickett is pleased to be able to offer exact recreations of his original Minisprint, featuring a de-seamed shell and a roof line lowered by 3"..... this is done by taking material from both above and below the waistline to maintain the original proportions, while retaining the roof guttering and keeping that classic Mini look.
The advertised price includes the full conversion of your own Mini body shell, including the bonnet, boot, doors & petrol tank, be it MK1, MK2 or the later internal door hinge MK3/4/5 shells. A suitable cut down windscreen can also be supplied. All original Neville Trickett Minisprints come with a unique chassis plate & certificate of authenticity signed by Neville and will of course become the classics of the future.
