this 1984 series 1 cx20 safari 2 litre 5 speed manual example in silver (pearl grey) with light grey upholstery was in the hands of it's first caring owner for 24 years and has covered a mere 12,000 miles!
to say that he looked after it in the most incredibly fastidious way is no overstatement - it really must be seen to be believed.
when new he fitted loose covers to all seats and laid carpet over the rear load area to protect them; Upon removal the interior condition is still as new!
the vulnerable bodywork and underside is as close to perfection as could ever be imagined.
the mechanics and hydraulics obviously function perfectly and the drives absolutely superbly and softly just as a perfect low mileage cx should.
there are no dings or marks anywhere on the mouldings or brightwork. Wheeltrims are original and perfect. All lights are perfect.
the engine bay has been detailed to show condition.
supplied new by minden motor company of newmarket, it's owner retired to norfolk soon after purchase and appeared to have spent a lot of his spare time caring for his car! Nearly all the old m.o.t. Certificates are present and indicate that his annual mileage was dropping gradually in later years and in 2003 the car was carefully laid up at 11,900 miles.
now fully re-commissioned with a service, new cam-belt, rear suspension spheres etc. It is once again ready for immediate use or simply storing for future investment.
a fantastic, surely unrepeatable timewarp and i defy anyone to find a better example!
