For sale due to bereavement – genuine buyers only please! Quick sale required.

I have been asked to find a new keeper for this cherished TR6. The TR6 was purchased in March 2007 as a ‘I must do this – its now or never!” The car was used sparingly, just 1000 miles since then. The V5 was ‘disabled (free tax) now changed into wife’s name on normal V5. (also have the original USA ‘Vehicle Certificate of Title’). Nothing needs doing due to the extensive work previously done. Just drive and grin!

The car has only had 3 previous keepers since imported in to the UK in 1990 (converted to RHD and sold originally by ‘The Essex TR Centre’) and has recently flown through the MOT (valid to March 2009), although is not taxed at present. There is a MASSIVE history file of receipts etc showing nearly every part has been replaced or upgraded, inc MOTs and old tax discs. The previous owner was a banker and spent a fortune on his baby!
MOTS show the mieage:
1990 – 42,591
1992 – 45,072
1993 – 55,502
1994 – 59,315
1995 – 60,366
1996 – 64,004
1997 – 67,041
1999 – 70,056
2000 - 72,145
Jan 2004 – 72,965
Feb 2005 – 73,475
Feb 2006 – 73, 707
March 2007 – 74,027
March 2008 – 74,914 ....

Work done includes:
* Bottom end engine rebuild 1991 (Mileage 45,060
* New SU twin carbs
* New carpets (1999)
* Converted head to run on unleaded petrol
* Converted to spin off oil filter
* New burr walnut dash – lovely. Now nearly £200!
* Mountney steering wheel
* Inner and outer sills and floorpan professionally replaced (2006)
* Rewired
* New seats
* Hood replaced

Parts replaced include (there is more!):
*Brake master cylinder,
Battery (04),
Hoses,
Windscreen wiper rack etc,
Clutch, inc slave and master cylinder,
Differential,
K & N air filters,
Brake callipers,
U joints, trunions, diff mounts, wishbone bushes etc,
Exhaust,
Shocks,
2007 – new JVC CD/music centre.

It is quite economical and is a fantastic drive, the straight 6 engine and exhaust note are something ONLY a TR6 can achieve. Classic car insurance is also very competitive (I’ve seen quotes for £114.00 pa fully comp. inc. breakdown cover).

The car has been fully serviced each and every year and no expense has been spared.

The car valued in 1999 at £8,250 for insurance purposes only – and has loads of work done since. The car is always garaged. The car has been resprayed to a good standard.

Reading the documentation, I have seen have evidence that the car has had 2 accidents a while ago – both professionally repaired. In 1997 a minor rear end bump resulted in a new chrome bumper and bodywork repairs. Any rust was also repaired. And in 1999 the front wing, front chrome bumper and valance was replaced after another bump.
Areas for improvement – in my view only (please satisfy yourself that there are no more) are:
* Bonnet alignment is a bit off and will require a jiggle - there is a new catch suppled;
* There is a small (50p size) of paint lift (has been painted in) near the rear wing/rear deck joint;
* When the car was resprayed the bullet type door mirror was not removed. Now it has been replaced with a different type of mirror you can see the original, very similar, red below;
* The rubber for the driver’s window (on the door) is partly missing (£7 new);
* Some of the switches show ‘finger’ wear through use.
All in, this is a good honest car ready for immediate use. It starts first time and it has not been 'molested' in anyway and has been kept standard apart from the upgraded dash and Mountney steering wheel.

These cars are a useable asset and I hope someone will enjoy being able to use this car to its full potential. I’m tempted myself, but already have too many classics to justify another one!

When buying a car like this I would request that you view the car prior to purchase and a RAC/AA inspection is more than welcome. The car is in Church Crookham (Fleet) Hampshire. Let me know if you have any further questions. I am also willing to pass on realistic offers.

Cash on collection preferred. UK buyers only.
