| Range Rover Velar Pre Production Chassis 40 SOLD (1970) C55563 | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | | Reg no NXC 245H.Where to start!A very rare oppurtunity to aquire a pre production Range Rover Velar in Tuscan Blue.Built 26th May 1970 and registered as a Velar (I have original buff log book)and used for the launch at Blue Hills Mine in Cornwall. It has only done approx 111,000 from new with full history and I mean full history. The first owner recorded all journeys and problems in a book which makes facinating reading. He bought the car in August 1971 and the invoice is in the file for £1975 and kept the car until 1987.The car then changed hands several times and was in need of restoration when I aquired it in August 1999.It was taken to Dunsfold Land Rover and they part restored it for me with other work being carried out by sub contractors.Basically the car was taken down to a bare chassis and then rebuilt retaining all the rare items including aluminium bonnet, limited slip diff, correct door frames, early brake servo and lots of other pre production features. The chassis, engine and gearbox are original and the car was repainted in the original Tuscan Blue. The interior is the correct moulded PVC and in fair order apart from the passenger seat base which is cracked. The transmision tunnel pvc is tatty but complete.Car drives well and brakes well due to all new braking system. Bills for thousands (I stopped counting at some point!)Long MOT
