| Rover P4 100 upgraded and restored. SOLD (1960) C55917 | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | | Restoration by P4 specialist costing tens of thousands of pounds over the last 22,000 miles. Rebuilding has included the bodywork (including the bits you can't see) and those mechanical parts not replaced with brand new original equipment. Now has a Rover P5A 3 litre engine which was converted to take unleaded fuel when completely rebuilt. Gearbox and Overdrive also completely rebuilt as have been the entire braking and suspension systems as well as the fitting of a new wiring loom. Converted to negative earth with alternator, new original equipment also includes distributor and water pump with the petrol pump replaced by a pair of far more reliable Facet pumps (one for main, the other for reserve). Also now fitted are an anti-roll bar, Luminition electronic ignition, high spec electric fan, oil cooler, stainless steel exhaust, high ratio P4 95 rear differential, etc., etc., all meaning 25 mpg on Motorways at 75-80 mph (I've had 28 mpg at 60 mph). Untouched original interior and complete tool kit (including the paint tubes) in the tool tray and the boot. I've driven this car to Switzerland, Scotland and all over England. I believe this is a wonderful example of a reliable, powerful P4 for use in 21st Century traffic conditions. Several photos, all bills and MOTs available. New recent MOT and Taxed.
