| 1937 SS Cars Ltd Jaguar 2,5ltr Saloon For Sale edit C56128 | | | Finished in Metallic Burgundy/Cream coachwork with original Burgundy interior. This car has been extensively restored back to original condition, which included a bare-metal re-spray. The car has matching numbers for the engine and chassis to the manufacturer plate. The engine was completely stripped and rebuilt with new parts, including pistons, rings, carburetors, etc. Part of this rebuild included the balancing of the crankshaft. All mechanical parts were either replaced; refurbished or re-engineered. New spines, hubs, wire wheels were fitted and new rods were manufactured for the brakes. The chassis was restored and enamelled. The leather interior is original so retains its patina and in very good condition. The interior dashboard is original but shows signs of veneer cracking. The chrome beading between the bonnet and front LH door is not shown in the photo, but will be fitted with new fasteners. The comprehensive toolkit that these cars came with - inlaid to the boot-lid - is complete, but for the wooden handle screwdriver and an adjustable spanner. Although the sunroof is not shown in the “open” position in the photos it is fully functional. The floor-boards will need to be replaced ultimately (nothing expensive as these were originally cut from packing-case material). The carpeting is original and in worn condition (could do with replacement?).
