| Jaguar XK150 3.4 (S) FHC For Sale (1957) edit C56134 | | | Finished in Sherwood Green with Mushroom Interior. This car was completely restored in a ground-up bare metal restoration some 6-years ago (a photographic journal plus hardcopy record of expenditure during restoration comes with the car to the new owner). The work was carried out by an ex-aircraft engineer and enthusiast of this marquee. The car was originally White in colour, but this was changed during the restoration to Sherwood Green which was a correct colour from Jaguar at the time of production. The car is a "matching numbers" unit and has been verified as such by the relevant body. Although the engine has been "upgraded" to the triple-carburettor "S" specification head (obviously with non-matching number) the original head for twin-carburettors comes with the car and is in good working order - should a purist wish to return the car to its ex-factory specification. Some 78Mb of 29 detailed HIGH RESOLUTION photographs was taken on the 18th July 2008 which can be made available on request.
Apart from three minor blemishes, being; a) Minor 5cm/2" paint scratch down to metal on the lower right rear wheel-arch. b) Very slight indent (1.25cm/0.5") with pinhead paint chip at the base of the running light located on top of the right front fender/wing. c) Slight water-mark 10cm/4" stain to the leather padding just below the door glass inner left door panel.
The car is in perfect order and a highly usable classic that drives as a well-sorted example should. It would not involve any major expense to bring this vehicle up to "Concours d'Elegance" winning condition again.
