| 1970 Mk2 Ford Cortina 1600 GT MAY SWAP OR PX SOLD C57353 | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | | For sale is the last of my "classic Cars" which ive been selling for the past yr or so. Having sold my A Series Opel Manta and more recently my Mk3 Ford Cortina GT, im now moving on my 1970 Mk2 Ford Cortina 1600GT.
The car has recently been restored this year, with a full, bare metal respray in Deep Red pearl at Wizard Body Repairs in Bedlington. When i got the car it was painted blue, but that has obviously changed. The car has recently has some new sills done and was undersealed after paint job. The body is now mint and looks stunning when the sun shines on her. The engine was fully removed to allow the engine bay to also be painted.
Again this year, the car has had new screen rubbers all round, new clutch, new flywheel, the engine has been fully serviced with new oil, water, gaskets, pipes, etc.
The car sits on 13x7 and 13x8 genuine Compomotive Superlites with Michilin tyres.
Brakes are good as is the suspension
The car did a 250 mile trip in July 2008 without any problems at all and was on the Retro Car Club stand at the Scottish Modified Car Show and got lots of positive comments
The interior door cards are very good and the trim/dash have all been recovered.
Front corner bumpers have just been rechromed at great expense so are like new. The rare bumper is not mint but is still good
I would consider a swap for something interesting or a px with cash my way
