1962 Mini Morris Cooper 'S' race/road/track day For SaleThis Mini has recently finished being built so 90% of components are brand new. This was done in Australia with a virtually rust free shell and will be sold with a NOVA certificate showing import duties have been paid. All the special bits are there as can be seen in the pictures and on the list below. It is in beautiful condition and has never been raced. It could be returned to a very quick and stylish road car or raced as was originally intended.

The Engine and Gearbox:Thick flange block with all brand new components,4 speed gearbox casing with S/C C/R gear set with all new bearings etc, reconditioned selectors.The diff is brand new Evolution LSD 90/35 C-AJJ3387 Diff ratio is 4.1 semi helical cut with new output shafts S Type C-BTA1262 Engine components are: ISKY cam followers,New Roller rockers 1.5 Cooper S Rods,Rod boltsC-STR288 and Nuts.New Harmonic balancer 12A367,New crank pulley C-AEG454,New belt cam drive kit C-AJJ3328,New lightweight flywheel C-AEG619,New diaphram C-AEG482,New pressure plate C-AHT230,New bronze clutch,New primary gear S/cut C-STR123,New input gear C-STR230,New Timpkin idler Gear set C-STR30T,New oil pump C-AEG411,New water pump GWP 187,New pistons and rings 1275+115,the piece de resistance is the brand new 84mm nitrided crank from a special batch done by Rolls-Royce a few years ago-it was indeed a work of art and beautifully finished.New LCB big bore exhaust manifold C-AHT289. Cylinder head work and cam grinding was done by respected race engineer and tuner Graham Russell,he is a colleague of David Vizard and they consult each other on flow bench testing etc. New Hardy Spicer Uni joints. Ignition is electronic,whilst alternator has been reconditioned,high cranking starter is an exchange unit.Single 45 mm Weber. Engine is tuned to run on 100 octane leaded race fuel but could be retuned to run on unleaded with additive.
Front Suspension & Brakes All fully adjustable rose jointed. Standard rubber cones which are fully adjustable. Brakes are single piston calipers from early model Holden Commodore with ventilated discs to fit within the 13” replica Minilite wheels. Tyres are new Avon super soft slicks. All new steel brake lines, with Toyota Land Cruise master cylinder,exchange power booster fitted on LH side as you will note in the photos.Front shocks are lowered Koni Units from Mini Spares.
Rear Suspension & Brakes: Beam axle rear end with trailing arms,and standard Cooper S Drums. M/Bike adjustable coil-over shocks with Eichbach springs. The fabricated fuel tank sits in the rear boot area.
The bodywork: Original 1962 Morris Mini 850cc shell. Sandblasted and excess metal removed, steel roll cage welded into the body shell. New race seat and 3” harness and window net.Paintwork is Castrol 2 pack. All windows are Lexan and fitted into the original frames where possible,they do show evidence of wear. All window and door rubbers are new.Front screen is a new laminated unit.As a personal touch,I had a carpet made up to suit the floor area.The battery is mounted in the LHand rear of the car.
The car can be viewed in Addlestone Surrey. Collection from Weybridge or Addlestone station can be arranged. A ramp is available for inspection. All work or reconfiguration can be carried out here if required.
