| LOTUS SEVEN S2 1340CC COSWORTH For Sale (1962) edit C58139 | | | A painstakingly restored Lotus 7 S2 1340cc Cosworth.
A genuine 19000 mile car that was allowed to fall in to disrepair a long while ago. The vehicle had been in the same ownership since about 1968, prior to my purchase three years ago.
The chassis was restored by Arch Motors and as many of the original components as possible were used. These include the engine, gearbox and Standard Ten rear axle which were all checked and overhauled as necessary.
The vehicle is on correct Triumph Herald wheels and Dunlop Goldseal crossply tyres and has correct drum brakes all round. The interior is brand new and the instruments were all properly restored.
I acquired the original factory record for the vehicle and restored it to as near to the original specification as possible.
The vehicle, of course, has a UK registration document and the correct chassis plate, dating it to 1962.
The 1340cc, Ford 109E, engine was not used for long and very few were made to Cosworth specification. Naturally, the engine has the correct Cosworth rocker cover.
The restoration took over eighteen months and the vehicle has covered just a couple of hundred miles since. Before commencing the build, the aluminium body was professionally polished to a very high lustre.
My reason for sale is that I have other Lotus Sevens awaiting restoration and space is at a premium.
