A rare opportunity to acquire a historic race car eligible for most major events.
Campaigned in various circuits throughout Europe to include Nogaro, Nuremburg Ring, and Monza. Located in southern France and purchased by the current owner in 1978. The owner is a great race enthusiast and has subsequently raced the car at some of the above mentioned tracks and at local club events and hill climbs. This car is supplied with the original French log book and has an FIA certificate form.
Based on the Fiat 600 body shell and considerably modified by Abarth. The Abarth Chassis number is stamped on the engine bulkhead; 210 1706. Interestingly the correct open engine lid not only aids cooling but adds 6pmh to the top speed due to aero dynamics. In overall good order.
The engine supplied by Abarth is a TCR unit with a Fiat 903 block. It has the big valve head, two twin choke webbers, race and a more road friendly exhaust systems, modified cams, up-rated suspension (wishbone front)and drive chain, up-rated disc brakes (three pot callipers front two pot rear) limited slip differential and all the goodies to make it qualify as a group 5 race car. The interior has a full roll cage and harness currently fitted with bucket seats for race purposes although the original seat frames do come with the car.
