Myself and 3 friends all chipped in to buy this beast back in February for a 2000 mile rally around Europe. We completed the rally with ease and by the end of it, all 4 of us had fallen in love with the car! ahh.... Buy the car, do the rally and sell it on was our plan. 6 months later we've still got it because we can't let go! But sensible thought has caught up with us, we've all got cars already and there really is no need for her any more.
The car.
Between us, we've spent a lot of money, time and effort in getting her up to be an incredibly reliable runner that we trust implicitly (this was to give us faith in getting it around Europe). 126,000 miles on the clock, mechanically she is sound as a pound, and flew through the MOT last month, so 11 months left to run. We've put a brand new radiator in, full service, new front brakes, 4 new tyres, and very importantly re-wired the cd/radio in! all electrics work (rear passenger side window slips when going back up). Exhaust is good, tyres nearly new, and there's nothing that needs doing for this to continue running for a long time yet.
Bodywork etc: a couple of small rust patches are bubbling at a couple of points (roughly 10p coin size patches), these are very easily treatable and another reason why i'd rather see this car go to a good owner who wants to look after it and treat these bits, rather than stay un-needed with us. Interior cloth fabric is all very good, no rips or tears, still got the rear passenger foot rests, mercedes carpets and mats. Wood veneer has cracked off on one of the rear door handles, but we've still got the wood, just needs sticking back on.
This car won't be sold with tax, but I can put it on at the buyers expense. I'm sure if you're interested there maybe questions, so please ask, and i'll take more pics on request.
