| Reliant Scimitar 3.1 L Stage one For Sale (1977) edit C62993 | | | Recently bought this as emergency transport but it's not roomy enough for my family so its for sale.
Previous owners spent a small fortune on this Scimitar then left it standing for some years.
It has a recon Essex V6 bored out to 3.1 litre and bult to stage one spec by Specialist engines. It has branch manifolds and stainless exhaust. The auto box is a recon unit also.
It has spax adjustable shocks and uprated springs.
The interior was re trimmed.
It has a new Webasto folding sunroof and it's electric, this cost £1000 alone !
It was resprayed in the rather fetching metallic blue you see it in now and it looks lovely. though I cant find a reference to this in the history file.
I have a very large file containing all of the bills for parts bought and work carried out over a period of some years, complete with detailed yearly expenditure records to tally them up with.
Several valuation certificates from the Scimitar and Sabre owners club giving a valuation of around £4200.
Having been left standing unused it was then MOT'd in July this year and taxed. the tax expires 31.12.08.
Since MOT it was again left pretty much unused til I bought it.
There are a couple of issues that need sorting out including:
She runs and drives obviously, has good oil pressure, keeps cool, but probably needs a tune up.
Spax shocks adjusting for preffered seting.
New hazard flasher unit required.
indicators not working but i have it booked in to find out why, they worked for the MOT !
The electric windows work but the drivers window needs re attaching to the winder mechanism ( i will try to do this before sale )
All in all this is a lovely car that has been well cared for and had no expense spared that just needs tinkering with but I dont have the time. would make an ideal winter project to get ready for next years shows.
I dont want a lot for it (nowhere near the £4000 valuation, not even half) and would be happy to swap it for another classic but a roomier one, I have teenage children and a dog and my van is the family car at the moment !
Open to any suggestions for swap but for example a Mercedes estate would be ideal.
