1968 Aston Martin DB6 - Webasto Top - For Sale edit C63273 | | | Brighton Motorsports is pleased to present this luxuriously elegant Aston Martin DB6. This fine motorcar wears a re-coat of the original DuBonnet Red paint on its exquisite aluminum body. The interior has new natural tan Garrett leather throughout. A rare option, the Wabasto sunroof operates as it should and is large enough to allow plenty of sunshine into the cabin. This Aston Martin arrived to US shores in the late 70’s and we have some paperwork available about its importation and the first owner. The instruments have been rebuilt by Nisonger in New York and they all function accurately. The massive 4 Liter straight 6 cylinder has been rebuilt by Norwood of Dallas and is an engineering marvel. It produces 282hp at 5500rpm thanks to twin overhead camshafts and triple SU carburetors that have been recently overhauled. There are no leaks, it has good oil pressure and never runs hot or overheats. The gearbox shifts nicely through the gears of the ZF 5-speed manual transmission. The full OEM exhaust system is new and provides a fantastic soundtrack for your motoring pleasure. A new electronic fuel pump has also been recently installed. The rear main seal is original and weeps as it was designed to do. This Aston sports a new alternator with steel wings and the fuel tank has been flushed and refurbished properly. The brake system is great, it has been gone through and the booster was rebuilt. The exhaust manifold is ceramic coated for better heat management and the headlight covers are actually glass, not plastic. Although the repaint involved the removal of the glass and trim and looks shiny there are some spots where the finish is inadequate. The rear area around and under the rear deck spoiler shows some orange peel. The worst of it is out of sight under the spoiler lip. There are also a few small chips around the bonnet and door jams. Some buffing and light paintwork is all that would be needed to make it show slightly better. The rear chassis trailing arm location points have been repaired (not restored) by welding plates in. The work done is solid and will never be a problem again, but it is not a restoration to original. The same situation is true for the sills and jack points. This DB6 could be driven forever the way it is, or we can offer the new owner a discount rate at our restoration facility where we have the ability to return the areas mentioned back to original. The body has no other rust issues and is straight and true. This car exudes class and is extremely enjoyable to drive. Values are going up on Aston Martins so this is your chance to get a good example for a good price.
