Brighton Motorsports is pleased to offer this exceptional 1973 DeTomaso Pantera, the Italian-American exotic that blends the reliable power of a high-performance Ford engine with beautiful Italian styling and coachwork by Ghia.
The Pantera was produced by the De Tomaso Car Company of Italy from 1971 to 1991. This early example is dressed to impress with a fresh coat of Brilliant Silver metallic over new Black Leather interior.
This car has its original Ford 351 Cleveland V8 and ZF 5-speed manual transmission. What really makes these a pleasure to drive is the power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion steering.
We treated this car to a full cosmetic restoration in our own shops. We started with a rust free, low mileage one-owner car with no stories or collision history - and the end result is this car which is ready to enjoy.
The paintwork was recently completed to a high standard at our paint restoration facility, Brighton Ranch Paint & Body. The paint finish and body are in very good condition and fully sorted. The body panels and reveals are finished to a high standard, and in some photo's you'll notice the headlight covers not closing fully, but this has been adjusted and they close tight and the fit is great (as shown in the last two photos of the car in the gallery).
Great attention to detail was paid to the finish of the car, including body-color painted front bumper and side rear quarterlight fins/fuel tank door (usually black, and we'll change them back if you prefer them black). Topping it all off, is the period "PANTERA" side-stencil name - done in satin-finish black.
Our technicians at Brighton Motorsports carried out the balance of the mechanical, engine, chassis, and interior work. The engine was gone through, re-sealed, painted, and tuned. It runs very strong and the exhaust note is incredible!
The interior is fresh and in very good condition. All systems work as they should, and the car is also equipped with factory air-conditioning and power windows. The attention to detail extends to the front luggage compartment and engine compartment - both of which are also nicely finished and include a full new carpet set and rear engine cover.
The Pantera is a thrilling car to own and drive. The sweet marriage of brutal, mid-engine American V8 power and Italian coachwork is truly intoxicating. This is one of a very few available at this level with just one owner since new and only 32,091 original actual miles.
