1985 Jaguar Sovereign HE 'Timewarp?'
Mileage 68,000 with full ownership history, wallet with handbook pack and stamped service book, service invoices, some old MOT certificates and sales brochures.
Finished in Cranberry with Doeskin hide, possibly the nicest combination. The leather is almost unmarked, as are the original carpets and over-rugs. The woodwork is very good.
The original Clarion sound system and electric aerial are still fitted. Complete toolkit, including the 'attache case'. All items function correctly, including the central locking, trip computer, electric windows, electric seats, electric mirrors and trip computer. 5 good Avon TurboSpeed radials are fitted.
This car has been dry-stored, unused, for the past six years and recently re-commissioned. When purchased (from a private collector) in 2002, it was in original condition throughout. I have have had the following work carried out:
Replacement of:-
rear lower valances under the bumper (originals displaying a small amount of corrosion on the lower edges),
distributor cap and leads,
rear fuel supply and return pipes,
all three fuel change-over valves,
rear trailing arm bushes,
rear brake calipers, pads and handbrake pads,
brake master cylinder,
heater vacuum valve,
battery.
Just prior to my ownership the anti-roll bar links, steering rack bushes, spark plugs, fuel filter and front shock absorbers were replaced during a major service which included the oils and filters.
In addition, the transmission was fully overhauled 7,000 miles ago.
Consequently, the car drives beautifully- as it should.
Recent MOT.
£4500
Probably one of the finest Series 3 Jaguars available at the price(which has been reduced from £5500)- if it does not realise the asking price, or very near, I shall place into storage as it's surely better than stocks, shares, government bonds, property, or cash in the bank (but not, I'm afraid, as good as an MP's allowance....)
