| Mercedes 450 SLC For Sale (1979) edit C66190 | | | "That's a real film star car."
That's what the sandwich lady where I used to work said when I bought the car six years ago.
As I'm not a petrolhead, I had it inspected by an expert and they confirmed that the 39,000 mileage was genuine and that barring some niggles the car was in good condition. In the first three years the car put me through the ringer but, since 2005, I haven't had a single problem.
Indeed, when I came back to the country this summer having been working abroad for a year, the car started first time when a new battery was fitted.In short, the engine is in first-class condition and even now the car has only done 78,000 miles.
The only downside is that I don't have a garage and therefore the Great British climate has taken its toll with rust around the wheel arches. However it has more than enough miles left in it for a few trips to Hollywood and back. With regards to features it has air con, power steering, cruise control, electric windows, radio/cd player and ABS (an early version). And yes they do all work.
Reason for selling? It's likely that I'm going to be going abroad again and therefore now is the right time to do so. Although I,m not an expert in this market, I consider the price below to be a fair one.
