| The only Holden bodied saloon in the UK ! For Sale (1938) edit C66367 | | | This car is unique in the UK ! The equivalent UK model was of monocoque or chassisless construction, yet this Holden built car has a full chassis and a very distinctive split windscreen. Mechanically the two versions were identical, but apart from the front grille and bonnet, the bodies are totally different.
This particular car came from the very hot and dry Adelaide area, and has been in more or less continuous use since it was built. It has never been derelict, and has been lightly restored in the past by a Vauxhall enthusiast. This work entailed an engine rebuild, a new interior and new paintwork. The doorcards have a very unusual art deco style rising sun design incorporated into them. The car starts readily and drives well. It passed it's MOT with no problems a few weeks ago, and at the moment I am awaiting the issue of a registration number from the DVLA. The car is taxed until 31/10/09.
This car would be a most unusual and interesting starter classic for someone who wants no work to do other than cleaning and polishing.
Now fully UK registered with an age related number on pressed alloy plates, V5c plus long tax and MOT.
