| Austin Westminster A110 For Sale (1963) edit C66519 | | | For sale is my Austin Westminster A110, first registered in January 1963. This is a true British classic, where would you find one of these today! A brief history of the car. I bought her in September 2000 and the first thing to do was re-register her. She had disappeared from the DVLC register as being in existence(The Austin had been stood up since the late seventies/early eighties and not used) so with the help of the Austin Owners Club proof was given that she did exist. She was re-registered in my name on 29th September 2000. Due to being away for several years apparently the registration plate is non-transferable. In 2001 the engine was stripped down and rebuilt. There was also welding done to the underside of the car. In 2003 work started in earnest, a classic car garage replaced the following, rear wheel cylinders, wishbone bushes, front disc pads, brake pads, brake hoses and caliper overhauled, coil springs, wiper blades, washer pump, vacuum tank, flasher unit, solenoid, horn, water hoses, tyres. An MOT was obtained with 68845 miles reading on the clock, (Maybe genuine mileage but i have no evidence of the early years although i do have the old green registration book which does say only one owner up to 9th July 1974). In late 2003 the car was resprayed in blue royal/cumulous grey, the original colour. I then spent a fortune on having new carpets made, relining and recarpeting the boot, recolouring the roof lining and re-conolising the seats. In total i have spent £6500 on this car in the last few years. Today the car has passed its MOT with flying colours, straight through, mileage now 69132. The overall condition is excellent for a 43 year old car. The only rust is along the bottom edge of the boot where slight bubbling is taking place, Chrome is front, re-chromed so excellent with the rear being good. She runs well and has never let me down. The car has a manual gearbox. The only reason i am reluctantly selling this car is because i have a new classic car project. Woleseley 6/110 and something has to go.
