Historic road rallycar, 'Works' replica spec. SOLD (1964) C66570 | | | Not for sale - it has been sold via a Car and Classic Free Ad | | Built as an exact replica, inside & out, of 892 DOO the Ford entered GT for David Siegle-Morris in the 1964 Coupe des Alpes Rally.
Many, many hours spent, to ensure that the smallest detail is as accurate as possible.
Briefly: The 2 door shell was stripped of all paint & underseal before restoration began, all it needed was a front panel & strut top repairs, the rest is as it left the Factory, no other welding required! It is finished in Monaco Red with black interior as per the Boreham cars of '64.
Everything is either new or fully reconditioned to a high standard, in addition to the standard GT equipment we have added the rallying bits!
This is'nt a complete list, but here are some of the mods.
used by Boreham: 3 x Cibie Oscars with metal mesh covers, Cibie Type 22 headlights, electric windscreen washers, additional pod centre dash mounted for the extra switches & Halda Speedpilot, Microsell front seats with 3 point Britax harnesses, Avanti flexilight, additional fuel tank mounted in the boot sat on a tubular frame plus 2 electric pumps & Lotus Cortina 5.1/2" J steel wheels........
The engine was fairly standard with 2 x Weber 40DCOE added, a spare cylinder head is being modified to take unleaded fuel & will be gas flowed, ported, and big valved to make this a package that will be both reliable & Quick!
I May take a classic in PX or W.H.Y.
