•Owned by Patricia & Jackie Cochrane – successfully used in competition from 1990 onwards.
•Previous owner bought it 1999, first raced it in the Isle of Man Classic in September 1999 coming first in class in the hill climb and race at Jurby. Did a few races in the MG Midget Challenge in 2000 and 2001
•Did four seasons in the MG Midget Challenge from 2002 – 2005, came 4th in 2002, 2nd in 2003, 1st in 2004, 1st 2005 and also won the overall championship in 2005.
•The car is very quick and reliable, in 2005 it achieved a class win in all ten races and won one race outright beating the A class cars. It holds eight lap records and has won lots of races. (www.mgmidgetchallenge.co.uk)
Specification Overview
•The car has been developed over the years, at the end of the 2003 season the car was completely stripped, new cage, complete respray, new dash all wiring and plumbing renewed.
•Engine: Peter May 1380cc Full Race produces 112hp@wheels. Sent back to Peter May for full refurb at end of last season
•Gearbox: Straight Cut Jack knight
•Suspension work carried out by suspension specialist Mike Johnston, fully adjustable to allow accurate corner weights, telescopic double adjustable Quantum shocks front and rear. Front cross brace and rear Panhard rod.
•Brakes: 9" Discs at front, drums at rear
•Weight: 585Kg approx
Last season I raced the car in class E of the Austin Healey Championship winning best newcomer award and finishing 3rd in class.
The car is based in East Anglia for viewings.
