| Excellent Porsche-Extremely Reluctant Sale. For Sale (1988) edit C67145 | | | Extremely reluctant sale of my well cared for Porsche 944.
I am only selling as we are a 4 car family with only my wife and I driving! We have three children under 6 years old and a 4th now planned- so my needs are sadly changing towards a double decker bus....
HISTORY
I bought her in Highbury LONDON, and she was well worth the travel as you will see. Her previous 2 owners were both stock brokers and they loved and cherished her as I have done.
She has covered approximately 114K and has 17 stamps in the service book- all at Porsche Dealers/Specialists, and an 18th oil change entry. Therefore the milage must be genuine.
I have a HPI check document with her to prove her legitimacy.
I have receipts for over £6000 spent in her lifetime.
I have autotrader prints showing her value at between £5795 and £6995, but have priced to sell to (hopefully) some-one who will continue to cherish her as we have done.
Most previous MOT's held.
MECHANICS
This is the 2.7i engine- which I researched specifically before buying in order to consider insurance problems! This gives the optimum performance without tripling insurance quotes with the 2.5 turbo or 3 litre engine options which I also considered prior to purchasing this model.
I have had the belts changed and a new clutch costing approx.£1200. (Possibly the most expensive jobs possible.) There are no other nasty surprises I know of which she will need in the future...
She has been serviced at a Porsche Specialist garage once a year and had a secondary oil and filter change every 6 months.
She drives perfectly and gives an oil pressure reading of close to 5 bar. No unwanted knocks or rattles- just the sweet Porsche exhaust note.
The gearbox is tight and smooth and all gears select correctly as they should.
BODYWORK
She is in Guards red and I have had her professionally machine polished and all dents and chips taken care of. Sadly though there are some other minor ones since this was done, with many thanks to my daughters other young friends...however these are almost un-noticable overall.
She has been regularly hand washed and polished. She has also been fully waxoyled.
INTERIOR
The interior is black half leather with black Porsche logo centre areas, so no sweaty bodies in the summer months!...
There are no known rips, tears of cracks anywhere inside and the carpets look new.

BAD POINTS
I want to be totally honest so I will include as much detail as possible...
The headlamp washer pipe has come off on one of the headlamp washers- it only needs clipping back on- but I cannot get my hand down the back!
There are a few minor dents consistent with the age- which have happened since the machine polish/dent removal I had done. However that cost £230 for the complete vehicle so could be done again.
There are some small bubbles becoming apparent on the outer sills which should be treated to prevent further corrosion. They have not broken the surface of the paint though.
I do have the vehicle advertised elsewhere, and have priced to sell.

She has been used as a daily car (as often as possible) although as stated above- due to a growing family I have had to use the other vehicles as well!
She has been kept in my heated garage when the weather is really bad.
She will be sold with 12 months MOT on completion of the sale/money transferred. There is still MOT in force but I have just made a SORN declaration and she is now locked in the heated garage pending a successful sale/ or my wife forgetting she is in there so I can simply get her out again in 5 years or so when she has forgotton!!!
