I spent a lot of time and money on this car
and am really sad that I have to sell it now due to a long commute to my new job.
In the time I have owned the Capri it has been very very reliable to me. I have changed the oil and filters regularly. The bodywork is almost rust free as I have spent over a month restoring the car during the summer. If you wish to see some more pics of the restauration please let me know and I will email some.
The car had a little bit of welding done for the last MOT, which expires in August 2009, and should not need any more in the next years.
Good bits:
... Custom Rat Look Paintjob in matte black with racing flag vinyls
... MOT till 08/2009 and tax till end of May 2009
... Superb Engine with plenty of power, Weber Carb, K&N Filter, very important manual choce fitted so it starts well even in cold temperatures, only 114k on the clock and uses no oil, no rattles or knocks
... original RS Alloy wheels including spare in SUPERB CONDITION
... I spent a lot of time on several Capri typical rust spots, so the car is in very good nick for the age
... De bumpered front and back, Golf mk1 front indicators fitted, smoothened panels all round (no bolt or clip holes)
... Private plate in sale included (worth £400)
... Custom "Ford" seat covers
... Sunroof
... AMAZING FUN TO DRIVE and turns heads wherever you go
of course on a 22 year old car there are a few "bad" bits:
... Paintjob could do with a bit of a touchup
... Exhaust rattles sometimes in corners or when idle (probably some rubber)
... sunroof does not slide back, but tilts fine.
... heater motor does not work (common Capri problem) but heating is fine when driving
... cracked dashboard and wear on driver's seat (again very common capri problems) drivers seat damage hidden by seatcover
