BMW M635 CSi ~ Excellent Condition ~ SOLD (1986)
|The BMW M635CSi in RHD form is now a rare car as only 524 RHD non-catalyst 286bhp versions were built during the production run that ran between 1984 and 1989. Many of these were exported to Australia and South Africa while others were abused on racing circuits leaving very few decent cars remaining in the UK. |
This example will be one of the best surviving cars and needs to be seen to be appreciated.
The documentation file is remarkable as it gives a complete ownership, servicing and mileage history for the car throughout its life.
It was registered on 1st January 1986 and supplied new by Wolverhampton Motor Services, the local BMW agent, to Bilston & Battersea Enamels, a world renowned maker of trinket boxes. They owned it for three years during which time they covered 25934 miles and had the car serviced by the agents five times.
It was then acquired by a very wealthy American who lived in London who kept the car for six years until 1996 until transferring ownership to his wife. It was in her ownership until April 2002 and it had only covered 45375 miles when she sold to a London based dealer, Rupert Goalen Ltd who immediately sold it to private buyer in Norfolk.
This enthusiast owner only kept the car for seventeen months but during that time had the car serviced by a BMW specialist who had previously been a longstanding employee of Jaymic, the classic BMW specialists. They wax protected the cavities, underbody and sills and they also gave the car a full inspection and issued an excellent written report on its condition at the time.
This owner also had it inspected by the Chairman of the BMW Car Club Coupe section who declared it in such good condition that he wanted to be given the chance to buy it if it came for sale in the future.
In October 2003 the car changed hands again, this time to a private buyer in the North East. Over the next seven years this buyer spent over £7000 on new parts and improving the standard of the car.
In early 2011 it passed through the hands of the well respected Tamworth based classic car dealer, Avantgarde, who sold it to an enthusiast in the East Midlands who since then has carried on improving the car to the excellent standard we now see.
Over the last four years he has spent in excess of £14000 including a new set of alloy wheels and tyres, Cobra category 1 alarm, and dozens of original parts purchased from Sytners including new glass, mouldings, bumpers, spoilers, chrome trim, rubbers and lights.
The car comes complete with all the original replaced serviceable items and the original refurbished alloy wheels.
The history file contains the current V5 Registration Document, the original stamped Service Record Book, previous V5s and other ownership documentation, 21 expired MOT certificates dating between 1989 and 2015 which confirm the low annual increase in mileage, the current MOT which runs until August 2016 and dozens of invoices detailing work completed and parts purchased which amount to a sum in excess of £30000.
The current recorded mileage is correct at 86085.
This car is likely to be an excellent investment.
