| Rare Trans-Am Recaro 5.0 - knight rider replica For Sale (1982) edit C70535 | | | Unfortunately i have made the heartbreaking decision to finally part with my beloved KITT.
I have had the car for around 2 years and have found out since purchasing it that it is one of the few limited edition 1982 Recaro models of which i believe only 1750 were ever produced (details below). As you can see from the pictures it is in very good condition apart from a few minor chips & marks etc expected from a car over 26 years old. All hinges, locks, door handles and pop up lights etc work like new, bonnet and tailgate struts are fine, electric windows and T-Tops are leak free. There is even the original T-top storage bags located in the boot which is somewhat of a rarety nowdays. The Interior and carpets etc are in good condition although the side plastics in the rear are scratched, and the drivers side door seal would benefit from a replacement as is a little cracked and tired looking although completely watertight so not a necessity. The car starts first time & engine runs faultlessly, Auto box is also fine. The car comes with Charcoal Recaro seats, all the usual extras as well as the much sought after (extremely rare) 15" turbo casts in gold. The car has had regular service intervals since i have owned it (Odo reads 42K) although sadly no service book (but all receipts since owned), including brand new calipers, pads and up-rated air filter. The car has only ever been used in dry conditions and thus the underbody and chassis is solid, it has 5 months MOT although the road tax has just expired. It comes with the Knight rider nose cone fully fitted with working fog lights and yes the red scanner is fully fitted and works. Any questions please feel free to message me,

On January 28th, 1982, Pontiac Motor Division (PMD) announces it intention to build around 2000 specially equipped Recaro Trans Am in an internal bulletin broadcast. This package is only available on Trans Am's which are black with gold trim and have charcoal interior done up in Parella cloth. On top of all the Trans Am goodies, this limited edition includes standard multi-adjustable Recaro front bucket seats, standard T-tops, standard WS6 performance package, 4-wheel disc brakes, limited slip rear axle a.k.a. positraction with 3.23 : 1 gears, 32mm rear sway bar, 21mm front sway bar, stiffer springs & shocks, quick 12.7 : 1 steering box ratio, P215/65R15 steel belted Goodyear Eagle GT radials on Recaro-specific 15"x7" gold-painted turbo cast aluminum wheels, and a choice of the 165HP Cross-Fire dual throttle body injected (TBI) 5.0 V8 engine (LU5) with functional cold air induction hood and a 3-speed automatic Turbo Hydramatic TH200c transmission (MX1), or the 145HP 4bbl 5.0 V8 engine (LG4) with a four-speed manual transmission (MM4). The Recaro option price is $2,968 with the LU5/MX1 combo or $2,486 with the LG4/MM4 combo. Special black exterior door handle inserts proclaim "RECARO T/A" in gold lettering for identification. The Firebird logo and Pontiac lettering on the taillights are projected in gold paint also.
