A late model S124 E200 Estate, which features later M111 136BHP 16-Valve engine, which in the real world, is nearly as economical as the now virtually extinct diesel. These legendary estate cars are just so incredibly versatile, however its becoming increasingly difficult to find one that hasn't been used as a van, and/or been around the world more times than a second hand Boeing 747. Many of these cars were also unfortunately a victim of their own success, and because of their load lugging capabilities and their incredible durability, many have led very hard lives, and more often than not, it seemed neglectful owners were intent on squeezing every last ounce of life from them, for the least possible expenditure. I've always said, these older Mercedes hide abuse well, so if you see one that is abused, it's been through a very, very hard time!.
The good news here is that this car is none of the above. It was owned for quite some time by a company owner, and judging by the excellent condition of the bodywork, which is far better than most W124 Estates of this age, it's quite obviously spent quite a bit of time in a warmer climate. Obviously being a W124 Estate, the very nature of these cars dictates that there will always be a are few minor age relates marks here and there that these cars tend to pick up, but none on this car detract from the overall attractive appearance of the vehicle.
Mechanically, as you'd expect of any well looked after W124, it's in very good order, and goes surprisingly well considering its engine capacity. It also returns excellent fuel economy too, thanks to the later more efficient M111 4 cylinder, 16 valve engine. I also have to say, this particular car is one of the liveliest E200's I've driven, and is actually quicker than the multivalve diesel I have.
So if you're looking for a very highly presentable, very useable W124 Estate, with the very useful seven seat option, and rare working air-conditioning, you won't go too far wrong with this incredibly versatile and extremely good looking vehicle.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have. As such I have many repeat customers and new customers that have been recommended via word of mouth…the ultimate accolade for anyone in business. To read more, see my website at http://www.mtsv.co.uk
