AUSTIN SEVEN RUBY Saloon ARR SOLD (1936)
|This Austin Seven Ruby was registered new in October 1936 and was given the registration number BDF896 which it still retains. |
It was put into long term storage in 1966 and removed in 2005 when it was bought by an enthusiast from Cardiff. The gentleman had the bodywork restored and recommissioned the car to put it back on the road.
In 2008 it was bought by another enthusiast from the north of Scotland who continued to improve the car by rebuilding the engine. He also fitted external mirrors and removable front and rear indicators to the bumpers to make the car safer for use on todays roads although the original semaphores are still in working order.
In 2013, after buying another classic car from us, he sold this Ruby to a local friend who had a small collection of classic cars. It is now only for sale has this friend has decided to change his collection to 1970's vehicles. We are also offering another Ruby from this collection that can be seen on our web site.
The history file contains the current V5 log book, paperwork relating to the DVLA history of the car and the registration number, the current MOT, invoices for parts purchased and work completed along with photographs of the car when found in 2005.
Although the car is now MOT exempt as it was manufactured prior to 1960, it has an MOT which runs until February 2017.
Rules that commenced in October 2014 mean that the car will need to be licensed for twelve months from the date of sale for the new owner but this will be free as the car qualifies for the Historic Taxation class.
Prospective buyers are welcome to come and see it in our Leeds showroom.
